Therapy spaces available. Concessionary Rates for trainee counsellors
Hello! I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and I have a private practice located in Sidcup on Monday's and New Eltham (Tues-Thurs), in Southeast London. I work with adults both in person and online that are struggling with all kinds of difficulties. These can include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavements, trauma and stress.
Issues such as anxiety and depression can impact us significantly and we don't always understand why or know how to control it. We can experience moments of panic, agitation and feel unable to focus. We might lose sight of who we are and experience feelings of dread each day. It can impact our relationships and negatively affect self confidence. Anxious feelings can be an isolating experience and at times we might believe that there is no way out. These feelings can impact our ability to function healthily and we might try to cope by enlisting harmful behaviours in order to try to feel better and to suppress what is really going on.
As a therapeutic counsellor, my aim will be to provide you with a neutral, consistent and safe place for you to explore, process and try to understand your feelings. Together we can look to uncover any underlying issues impacting you that might stem from past experiences, core beliefs and events that have taken place.
Counselling might feel difficult at first, but I’d encourage you to look inward so that you can start to better understand how you feel.
I use an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy and this means that I will draw upon more than one theory throughout our work together. The integrative model of counselling allows therapy to be flexible and adaptable in line with each client’s personal needs and expectations.
Finding a therapist can feel like a daunting task. Feel free to contact me and we can have an informal chat about the support that you might be looking for.
Please feel free to contact me for an initial conversation via email, phone or Zoom to find out more about how we could work together.
A counsellor can provide a non-judgmental and supportive space that can help you to face your anxiety and fears in a more open and available way.
Counselling can reveal to you how your anxiety/depression truly manifests both mentally and physically helping you to identify it's process.
A counsellor can help you to notice any automatic and unconscious coping strategies that you've adopted and help you to learn alternative ways to live a fulfilling life.
By talking, counselling can help reveal core beliefs about your own identity. Together you can explore how these beliefs might be dictating behaviours and thought processes. You can decide whether these beliefs are actually valid.
With better self awareness, you can now make conscious changes to any belief systems, behaviours or patterns that you feel are hindering you to sustain relationships, employment, personal goals.
Feeling more confident as a unique individual, you can start to identify your own true values and goals and look to working toward achieving those.
